Mary Jane,Days ago, I told you that I will be delivering your petition to ban partial-birth abortion to our nation's Supreme Court on November 8, the day oral arguments open in Gonzales v. Carhart and Gonzales v. Planned Parenthood.I asked you to pray specifically for the justices who will participate in this monumental ruling-the first of its kind since then-Justice Sandra Day O'Connor ruled against partial-birth abortion more than five years ago.I also asked you to let your friends and family know about our petition delivery, so that they can be represented in it. Today, more than 126,000 Americans have signed this petition!Thank you for taking this life-and-death issue to your friends. I imagine that some of you have received responses from some of them who want to know more. Please feel free to direct them to one of two resources which address the facts of partial-birth abortion in depth. The first is a step-by-step diagram of a partial-birth abortion procedure. Please click here. The second is a nurse's firsthand experience of partial-birth abortion while working in an abortion clinic. Her account was broadcast on Coral Ridge Ministries' Truths That Transform radio program and can be heard here.Thank you for standing with us for life!Dr. Gary CassExecutive DirectorCenter for Reclaiming America for Christ

Meers Country Store & Restaurant
We were out of town the last two weekends. So I do apologize for the lack of posts. I won a trip for two to Quartz Mountain Resort in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma last year. So we finally took the trip. For those of you who don't know, Oklahoma does have mountains. They are pretty small mountains compared to other places. I was going to take pictures of the mountains but i waited until the last day and it was rainy and overcast. If you're interested the website is http://www.quartzmountainresort.com/ . On our way back Timothy and I stopped by Meers Country Store & Restaurant. It is 105 years old and they are famous for their fresh hamburger. This was Tim's first time. I went in September on a field trip type thing with Senior Adults. It wasn't quite what we were expecting.
Here are two pictures of the front.

the inside of the restaurant

Tim's reaction to an old dirty looking restaurant (: The food's pretty good and it just looks dirty because it's so old and not restored. They serve the drinks in 32oz mason jars. We both left full and satisfied.

family reunion
HorseShoes
Originally uploaded by homegrownbymaryjane. another reason for the trip to indiana was my annual family reunion in edinburgh.
my family gets together for a weekend of camping, no running water (except for a water pump), outhouses, horseshoe toss, bean bag toss, bingo, a eucher tournament, and potluck meals. it's great (:
this is a picture of this years winners and runner ups for the horseshoe toss. from left to right: my grandpa, my honey, my cousin's husband, and my uncle.
the worst part is the end of the reunion when we all must go our separate ways until next year.

trips to Indiana
Our trips to Indiana can be eventful...
A year ago we saw "the yellow submarine" on the road
He caught us all staring at him and taking his picture. I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but that's why he has that smile on his face.
The last two trips we broke down on the way there and one time on the way back.
July: On the there we blew a tire and on the way back we lost the belt to the alternator. It coudn't of happened any better though. We had just pulled off on an exit and our car died. The people behind us pushed our car over to a hotel and then the people behind them offered to go get a new belt and put it on for us. It took awhile but we were taken care of. They said if we had driven much further we would've ended up in a pretty bad side of town.
September: On the way there our car started overheating. We coudn't quite make it to an exit so we had to walk to try to find a gas station to get coolant. As we were walking a trucker gave us a thing of coolant but since we were close to an exit by that time we thought we would go ahead and get some water too. about 4 miles later we find that the nearby gas station is abandoned and the other two are closed for the evening. we had a long way to go to get back to our car and not much to show for it. on are way back at 3 am a nice lady and her nephew offer to give us a ride back to our car. So for the rest of the trip we had to slowly travel to Terre Haute by filling up on coolant or water as we drove. When we made it to Terre Haute our friend's husband and dad fixed our car. Turns out our heater hose had a gash in it. Then we finally made it to Indianapolis.
So we've had a lot of problems but every time God takes care of us so it's all good (: You do meet alot of interesting people this way.

going to indiana!
timothy and i are going to indiana today to see our family...i'm so excited! living in oklahoma has given me a greater appreciation for family time. my sister n' law just had a baby boy this month, so we'll get to see our new nephew. i'm working on making him slippers, but his feet are super long so i'll have to make some adjustments. i'll post pictures of my latest projects when we get back.
